New Democratic Party of Canada leadership candidate Jagmeet Singh, today announced policy to address systemic barriers faced by LGBTQI2S+ Canadians.
Jagmeet Singh’s LGBTQI2S+ Initiatives consist of an LGBTQI2S+ Youth Housing Initiative, a Gender Equity in Federal ID Initiative, reforms to Health Canada and an immediate repeal to the blood ban.
“As Prime Minister I will ensure that everyone in our country has access to necessary and appropriate healthcare and that youth are not left homeless because of inaccessible shelter services. I will also make crucial tasks like getting an ID simple and accessible, regardless of sexuality or gender identity”, said Singh. “Together, we can build a better, more inclusive Canada, where people who identify as LGBTQI2S+ are free to live safely, to have equity and dignity.”
