Vulnerable workers across the province are slipping through the cracks of faulty labour legislation that should be protecting them. Over 700,000 people in Ontario depend on temp agencies to connect them with work.
Yet temp agencies have been allowed to claw back as much as 40% of workers’ salaries, refuse them benefits and drive workers into cycles of instability. Ontario’s Bill 148 has potential, but amendments are needed to guarantee fair treatment for temp agency workers.
That’s why I’m submitting this letter to Premier Wynne and her government, demanding the protections that vulnerable workers need. If you agree that Ontario must do more to protect temp agency workers, add your voice to my letter by signing up on this page.
